I find, when asked that question, I have an initial responce like yours and then my mind starts to wonder if there's any exceptions... but the moment I voice any exceptions, they just sound fainly fascist to me.

I do think it's acceptable to put controls on access of some things, like making pornography unavailable to minors or even just the rating system on mundane movies - I would say that isn't the same as censorship but some people might disagree.

That said, the knock-on effect for me is that you the media is still responsible for what it produces. Just because I can't legally ban it doesn't mean I can't call someone out for making something I find disgusting or offensive or dangerous or whatever - what it does mean is that the final decision to publish rests purely on them, not the government.
